About the Role

Client is a Network Services and Solution provider, and we are looking for a Telecom Rigging Lead/Foreman to join our tower personnel team. As a Lead Aerial Rigger/Foreman, you should have in-depth knowledge of rigging equipment, excellent spatial awareness, and good communication skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading a crew of 3-5 technicians on a range of including site build, maintenance, upgrades, decommission.
  • Assist and lead crew in daily construction
  • Maintain communications between crew
  • Assist and maintain the enforcement of governmental and company health and safety
  • Attend preconstruction walks when
  • Provide leadership and guidance to promote learning and furthering of junior crew member skills and
  • Work on and analyze project requirements with respect to labour and
  • Staying apprised of construction progress, concerns, deviation from plans or
  • Ensuring quality control or
  • Preparing rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and
  • Communication Tower and Cell Site installation and routine maintenance
  • Installation and testing of telecommunication equipment (cellular antennas, microwave antennas, transmission lines and connectors).
  • Antenna modifications and
  • Perform tests to locate transmission faults and repair or replace defective equipment on the
  • Performing general ground procedures and activities required for the construction of
  • Maintain tools, company vehicles, equipment, and
  • Identify safe working conditions and take a proactive approach to maintaining
  • Scheduling, resource management, health & safety, material management, and driving overall successful project
  • Performing all duties in a safe, diligent, and careful manner; operating with strict compliance with relevant Occupational Health and Safety policies, rules, and requirements for all work

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of Aerial tower climbing, rigging, and rappelling experience is
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s license with a clean abstract and a reliable vehicle is
  • Experience with general wireless construction including installation of equipment, steel mounts, cabinets, cable tray, conduit, microwave, power equipment, batteries, and grounding
  • Experience with cable systems including fibre optic, data, copper, and
  • Canadian or international experience with wireless carriers and major equipment vendors including Ericsson, Nokia, Bell, Rogers,
  • Ability to read and interpret site plans, engineering, and construction
  • Ability to work in a full body harness on rooftops and/or
  • Physical strength and the ability to work in a full body harness on rooftops, with steel, and climbing
  • Valid Working at Heights
  • Fall arrest and protection

 

Success in the Role

  • Telecom troubleshooting experience
  • Possess strong industry related skills, rigging, steel erection, line installation, antenna, and microware
  • Ability to interpret engineered drawings and knowledge of fibre and DC
  • Good physical condition and comfortable working at
  • Mechanically
  • Reliable and trustworthy with a positive
  • Valid Driver's license, willing to

 

Work Environment

  • Regular hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm or 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, however some flexibility is
  • Year-round, hands-on work on rooftop cell sites and
  • Work outside, at heights or in confined
  • Heavy lifting, manual work, and proficient use of installation
  • Work with a team of 3-5 technicians on a range of projects including site build, maintenance, upgrade, and
  • All extra Covid PPEs provided, maintaining distance on job
