Allocations Analyst
Description
Reporting to the Allocations Manager, the Allocations Analyst will work hand in hand with the Buying team, to enhance the customer experience and increase sales and profits, by monitoring store-by-store sales and inventory productivity, and acting on analysis and reporting. This candidate’s efforts will work in line with the company objective, through the conscientious application of organizational standards.
Essential Functions
- Analyzing, maintaining, updating and executing the replenishment program and schedule
- Assisting with capacity planning and the flow of product into the stores during peak times
- Monitoring when inventory exceeds capacity, taking action, and making recommendations
- Assisting with new store openings, planning the flow of product and ensuring that they have everything they need to fill the floor
- Monitoring inventory levels in our distribution center and ensuring product is getting pushed out and discrepancies are getting resolved
- Assisting with planning and executing seasonal consolidation and product exit strategies
- Executing stock balancing directions to optimize sales
- Analyzing inventory levels for key items and identifying when buyers need to place reorders
- Analyzing sales curves and how they pertain to inventory levels, weeks of supply, and replenishment increases/decreases
- Assisting with allocating purchase orders according to fill rates and sales where required
- Coordinating product returns to vendors
- Monitoring transfers and reporting any discrepancies, cancelled, or outstanding units
- Analyzing weekly/monthly transfer request volumes and how they pertain to store limitations
- Analyzing processes and systems and providing recommendations for improvement
- Assisting with training new employees
- Maintaining files and performs general office duties (i.e.: telephone inquiries, photocopying)
- Performing other related duties as required
Skill Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of successful analytical experience in a merchant, retail or financial position
- Demonstrates advanced skills with PC software programs (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Superior written & verbal communication, follow up, and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience business/retail mathematics, including percentages, margins, mark ups and markdowns etc.
- Ability to multi-task effectively
- Ability to work well with others
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and produce results under pressure
- Ability to meet deadlines in a position with changing priorities
Performance Measurements
- Ongoing management of the replenishment program and communicating with the buying team
- Keeping the stores at an appropriate level of inventory
- Continuous efforts to optimize sales with stock balancing
- Continuous efforts to help improve the processes and efficiency of the allocations department
