We pioneered VoIP initially with residential customers and eventually began providing best in class rich Business communication solutions, including Network Security, Cloud Phone Systems, Internet and private networks.  Our consumer division provides Canadian homes with an alternative for Internet, TV and Home Phone. Our Business customers look to us to provide a fully managed network solution, specialising in multi site deployments and real-time monitoring and near 100% uptime!

This candidate will conduct analysis and provide inputs to and help shape our future technology strategy. Your team will provide insights on new technologies, evolution of our existing networks and ultimately, recommendations on how we spend our capital most efficiently and effectively and set up the business for future success.

What You Will Be Doing

You will work in a fast-paced agile environment where you will collaborate with teams across the technology organization and the company to understand new technologies and customer requirements. You will provide analysis of markets, technology, regulatory, and customer trends to executive leadership and manage strategic and tactical relationships with vendors and other industry partners. You will be responsible for monitoring peers and competitors in the industry to understand their technology and geographical investments.

Your Strengths and Experience

You are an excellent communicator and have an active interest and presence in the telecommunications and technology industries. You can lead and balance multiple projects at once with changing priorities and see it through to completion. You are a visionary with the ability to analyze data, develop a business case, and make recommendations for the organization on a 3+ year horizon. You are an analytical thinker focused on qualitative and quantitative data to project future vision for the organization. You are extremely well organized, great at documenting and keep several small teams reporting into you on task and efficient.

Your Skills and Experience includes:

• 5-10 years in a leadership role in telecommunication industry and network operations
• 5-10 years experience supporting a internet and telecommunications service provider platform.
• Proven analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills
• Strong communications (written & oral) and interpersonal skills
• Excellent presentation skills with experience delivering presentations to executive leadership
• Strong time management capabilities, with the ability to perform multiple tasks and objectives
• Advanced experience working within a financial budget and developing relationships with internal finance partners
• Experience working on projects with a 1-3 year vision
• Experiencing in providing annual Product and Technology Roadmap
• Results oriented, flexible and willing to work in a multi-task and dynamic work environment
• Comfort with ambiguity.
• Conduct regular scheduled daily team huddles with managers and architects reporting to you.
• Strong understanding in software development such to understand the effectiveness of automation within the organization and improve the company performance.
• Strong understanding and applied experience in large scale network design.
• Deliver optimal user experience via the solutions provided today and make recommendations on enhancements after reviewing the data at hand
• Undergraduate degree in Applied Science (Electrical Engineering, Computer science preferred)
