POSITION: Product Specialist and Sales Engineer

 

As one of Canada’s leading telecommunication innovators, we’re constantly introducing exciting new telecom technologies to meet the needs of our customers. Our business focuses on communication solutions for business, including Network Security, Cloud Phone Systems, Internet and private networks.  Our consumer division provides Canadian homes with an alternative for Internet, TV and Home Phone.

Products responsibilities

 

  • Provide continuous product training sessions and ongoing support on products with Sales, PMO and Service Support teams.
  • Working with company Marketing, responsible for the Voice and Network portfolio for the B2B segment. This will include direction, positioning, pricing and updating.
  • Develop product pricing strategy which is well researched, clear and communicated to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate as needed with company Marketing to ensure the organization and its customers have the necessary collateral and documentation.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with various business and hardware partners/vendors.
  • Attending Executive meetings.

 

Sales Engineer responsibilities

 

  • Working with prospective and existing customers to provide technical expertise and help the sales team in the development of the value proposition
  • Gather technical requirements, understand customers’ longer-term technology strategies
  • Create detailed network and call flow diagrams based on client requirements gathered through pre-sales meeting.
  • Create detailed scope of work documents post sales for new clients.
  • Conduct in-depth product demos for prospective clients.
  • Detailed-oriented when gathering customer details, which is followed by submitting orders internally
  • Stay current on new and upcoming technologies from seminars by industry vendors
  • Regular meetings with the technical leads of existing customers to develop the business relationships
  • Work with sales to determine the correct products to be presented to the customer
  • Liaison between customers’ technical team and our internal teams to ensure deployments go as planned
  • Attend sales meetings and presentations, presenting products for the sales teams to understand the customers’ unique details and provide better support
  • Provide expertise and guidance to the customer on best practices and vendor choices
  • Flexible to be available to meet customers onsite to review solution and deliverable timelines

 

 

 

What do you bring to the team?

 

  • Strong written, oral, and organizational skills.
  • A college diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Technology
  • Experience with SIP-based VoIP technologies
  • Experience designing data networks prioritizing voice and video
  • 5-8 years of experience in a technical role within a sales organization
  • Willing to take ownership and drive continuous improvement
  • Proactive and creative, you are at ease with problem-solving and managing multiple priorities
  • Experience in account management and customer service; track record of relationship building
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills and computer skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and Windows
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills
